Desires of the Heart

I had to travel last week for work and it really got me out of sync.  Instead of church and a time to rest on Sunday, I was in meetings from 10 a.m. until 5:45 p.m.  Each day was filled with meetings and by Tuesday night I was ready to be home.  I received an email from my online Bible study leader asking how I was doing.  I told her how out of sorts I was and she asked how she could pray for me.  My reply was for safe travels and rest.

After another meeting on Wednesday morning, we left Jacksonville, FL at 10:45 a.m. That would put us in Atlanta after 4:00 p.m. on a weekday.   Atlanta's rush hour runs from about 4 - 7 each weeknight and there is no rushing involved.  It's mostly creeping.  We were estimating an arrival home between 6 and 7 that evening.  Guess what time we arrived?  5:30 p.m.!!!  Our prayers were answered and we never had to slow down in Atlanta.  Safe travels - check!

I arrived home to find that my 8 year old had not slept well the night before.  We were in bed at 8:30 p.m., sleeping about 10 hours.  Rest - check!

Psalm 37:4-5  Delight yourself also in The Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to The Lord, a Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
