Last Wednesday was a long day. I knew it would be since I was to be on the road a total of at least 5 hours with a 6 hour board meeting thrown in the mix. Because the drive went through Atlanta, I had to cushion the travel time by a couple hours. I left the house at 5:45 a.m. and arrived home at 6:45 p.m. The drive was uneventful, the meeting was successful, but the day was not yet done with me.
I went to pick up my 8 year old and found her in the bed with a fever. Uh oh! I wasn't expecting that. Back home, she put on pjs and went back to bed. The thermometer across her forehead read 103 and she was complaining of her legs hurting. My first thought was the flu. No, no, no!
She woke up a few times and I gave her some Tylenol during the night. Overall she slept well, but I didn't. I sent up lots of prayers for healing and protection.
Like 4:38b-39a But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her.
The next morning her fever was not so bad. We visited the doctor and received the best news - it was not the flu. She did have a sinus infection. That night I slept very well after a really, really long day.
