Floods and Rainbows

On Wednesday evening at my house, we got over 3 inches of rain in an hour. The yard was flooded and the 4 ft ditch in the back was overflowing. I honestly don't ever recall seeing that much volume of water in such a short period of time. I was simply amazed!

It didn't take long for life to get back to normal. Other than discussing the unbelievable deluge, we were back to work and school the next morning. The ground began to dry out enough that on Saturday I was able to do the yard work. But that evening, the rains came again. This time softer and gentler than the downpours a few days prior. The best part was the beautiful rainbow that greeted me from the sky.

Like me, you might be thinking about Noah's Ark and the rainbow covenant. But there are other mentions of rainbows in the Bible.

Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

Do you know how you always smile when you see a rainbow in the sky? It's just wondrous! Can you even imagine the smile you will have when you see Jesus?
