I skipped out on writing my blog last week because I attended a AA Baseball Game. It was an event set up for our Middle School kids at church. My daughter wanted to go with one of her best friends, so I offered at accompany them. It was the Gwinnett Stripers vs the Charlotte Knights and I had a blast! It had been years since I attended a baseball game in person and I truly forgot how much I enjoyed them. The girls were a bit clueless and I tried to explain a few things. However, I found myself more wrapped up in the game as the innings progressed. With a 3 run lead of the Stripers by the top of the 9th I thought it was going to be an early afternoon, but the Knights tied it up as we headed to the bottom of the 9th. It was close, but the Stripers pulled out a run and the game ended on a good note for us.
By the time I arrived home that evening, I had forgotten all about the blog. I apologize to my faithful readers receiving CrossSums in an email. Please don't think I am ending my blog, I'm not. I just took a day off to play. I searched for the word 'play' in Bible Gateway and found many references to playing an instrument, but this one fit better. It is a description of the future city of Jerusalem.
Zechariah 8:4-5: "Thus says the Lord of hosts: 'Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each one with his staff in his hand because of great age. The streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.'
This sounds like a lot of fun, doesn't it?
