Hurricane Irma

I was having internet issues last weekend, so I was unable to post my blog. We were also preparing for the first ever tropical storm to hit our area. Typically hurricanes are downgraded to tropical depressions by the time they reach north Georgia, but not Irma. The strong winds took out trees and power lines in great numbers. Almost everyone lost power, some as many as 5 days. We were fortunate in losing power only 15 hours. The local school system remained closed all week.

I spent yesterday cleaning up the mark Irma left on my yard. Not severe, but enough to keep me busy all day. I sit here now enjoying the sunshine and 90 degree temps. Such a change from less than a week ago. We have electricity, internet and clear roadways. We arrived at church with no issues. We even got to leave our own marks on a mural that will go in the new sanctuary. Mom, my kids and I left our hand prints on boards that will show we were there and are ready for the NEXT chapter at our church.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
