I took a break last weekend and spent it with some of my family in Pigeon Forge. I came back to no groceries, a messy house, a yard needing mowing and lots of laundry. My son helped me with the lawn mowing. I managed to pick up some items for my daughter's lunches and did some laundry, but Saturday came with a repeat of no groceries, a messy house a yard needing mowing, and lots of laundry. What do you think I did?
I took a bike ride and went to a Praise Festival. It was my first opportunity to ride my bike in 2 months. The weather was perfect on Saturday morning! That afternoon I drove to Blairsville to an annual Praise Festival to hear my nephew's worship band perform. It was awesome. So happy he's invested his talent in such an inspiring way. He sang my current favorite Christian song "Breathe" by Jonny Diaz.
Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
I returned home and mowed enough of the lawn to get by for another week. I may not have accomplished much in the way of keeping house, but I got exercise, great scenery, fantastic music and a day I will long remember. I gave myself permission to stop and just breathe.
