Frenzied Friday

Did you ever have a day with too many things scheduled, all of which are beyond your control? That happened to me on Friday the 13th. At 7:30 I delivered my child, a table and other stuff for a school group fundraiser. Thirty minutes later the set up was complete and I headed to work. I was on a morning deadline to get over 1400 letters stuffed, sealed and mailed. With the help of several in my office, we made it before we had to leave at 10:15 for a staff gathering and picnic. I was back in the office at 12:30 trying to get some reports finished. I returned to my child's school at 1:30 to collect the table and was back at work by 2. After working a while longer, I traveled to the karate studio at 4:30 for my child's belt advancement test. After the successful test, we headed for supper at 6:30. By 7:45 we arrived at our county's American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. I walked the 8:30-10 shift and stayed another hour for the tribute video. I arrived home just after 11.

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor - this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

Even though Friday was packed, there was great joy in each event. I would not have changed a single thing, except maybe sending out the letters. ;-)
