3/14-17

As a math geek I always post something about Pi Day on my Facebook page. You remember Pi, that constant you used when figuring out the area of a circle. Anyway, Pi is often approximated as 3.14 and acknowledged on 3/14. For those fans of Julius Caesar, there is 'Beware the Ides of March' which is recognized as 3/15. Then there's St. Patrick's Day on 3/17 when we wear green, pretend to be Irish and completely forget about what St. Patrick actually did for the church. But I digress.

I told my son we had March 14th, 15th and 17th, but needed something for the 16th. He said, "How about John 3:16?" Yes!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I was very pleased and thankful that it was the first thing that came to his mind. However, before you think that my son has it all together, shortly after that epiphany he told me he had a test the next day over a 400 page book that he neglected to read. I just sighed and wished him the best.
