Rainbows

One morning a few weeks ago, I was on my way to a meeting on our campus that is about an hour north of where I normally work.  The drive is usually uneventful and I tend to spend the time bouncing from one radio station to the next.  I was about 15 minutes from my destination when I noticed some dark clouds closing in. I was getting ready for rain when I saw the most beautiful rainbow arching across the sky.  With the sun to the east and the dark clouds to the west, it was absolutely brilliant in color.

Just the sight of the full rainbow made me smile and lifted my spirits.  I rejoiced in the few minutes I glimpsed it and when I reached my destination I asked others if they had seen it.  It was something that I so wanted others to have experienced with me.

Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

If a rainbow can do that, can you imagine the joy we will feel when we see the glory of the Lord?
