Nature

I took a week off from work to clear my mind and get some chores done around my house.  Three of the days consisted of pruning trees.  I had about a dozen trees that needed major trimming - you know, the kind where the branches are so low that you can't mow the grass underneath.  My 7 year old helped out a great deal by gathering up the cut branches.  But once the new became old, she was no longer a happy camper.  Her comment at the end of day one was, "I don't like nature when we work."

Me, I like nature best when I work.  When I'm outside I like to be doing something.  I want a goal and a way to pursue it.  I want to see a result that will make me feel good about what I have done.  And the same applies to my desire to see a result in what I can do for Christ.

Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do,forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

May we all find it in our 'nature' to press toward the goal that Christ has given each of us.
