Graduation Day

The mom of a dear friend graduated this week.  Instead of a cap and gown, she wore a robe and crown.  Instead of a marching band, she was serenaded by a choir of angels.  Instead of the conferring of a degree, she was told, "We'll done, thou good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:21)

John 10:27-28. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

As a Christian, you may view someone 'going home' as bittersweet.  You will miss them in the worst way, but you are proud that they graduated to their eternal life with Jesus.  Sometimes you may even feel a twinge of envy, but just know that it is not your time.  God still has things for you to do to advance His kingdom.

Philippians 3:13-14. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

May we all be as faithful as Mrs. Kelley in hearing God's voice and pressing toward the mark.
