Good News

My week was filled with good news. On Tuesday I finally published a new project I had been working on for a couple of months. What a relief! Thursday, my son found out that he had been accepted to a one week flight camp. He was an alternate and was chosen late. The camp is in two weeks and we will have to rush to get him ready.

Today our pastor taught from Hebrews about knowing we are forgiven. Honestly, there's really not any better news than that!

Hebrews 10:12-14 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies armada His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Joys of the Heart

I've worked hard all week on various projects, so even though the house needed cleaning I took a break on Saturday to enjoy the day and go biking. After arguing for 30 minutes with my 11-year-old about wearing the padded bike shorts and exercise clothes instead of school clothes, we left the house with the whimpering child dressed appropriately. (I was not above dressing her myself at that point and I think she knew that!)

Unsure of what her mood might be, we stll ventured to a favorite trail that has some pretty difficult climbs. She only complained a little when we arrived, but got on her bike and took off. Within 10 minutes, all of the stress of the morning evaporated as we scooted through the shady paths.

I must admit that I've struggled to find an exercise that I will stick with until I thought back to what I enjoyed doing as a child. I used to ride my bike at my grandparents' house all summer long. Now I'm trying to get my daughter to enjoy it as much as I do. She's getting there.

I would call the trek successful. We biked, chatted, watched turtles, fish and deer, got some good exercise, breathed fresh air and felt accomplished after completing almost 7 miles.

Ecclesiastes 5:19-20 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor - this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.

An Abundant Life

Sorry I didn't post last week, but I've been busier than normal. In the past 12 days I've tutored statistics, tatted a horseshoe and framed it for a gift, had a new mattress delivered, had someone repairing my house from last month's storm damage, attended a Plexus Big Reveal party, attended the RT Booklover's Convention in Atlanta, met one of my favorite authors, helped my son paint a ceiling tile for a class project, mowed the lawn, had an outdoor storage barn delivered, attended a middle school parent meeting, had 3 orientation presentations at work, practiced and competed in an end-of-year lip sync battle (I won), walked in the Hall County ACS Relay for Life, planted a rose bush for mom, passed 3 NASFAA Credential Exams, and I worked full-time doing end-of-term processing.

Now I've come to Mother's Day! You'd think I would be tired, but I feel great! I'm thankful for all of the energy the Lord has given me and for the wonderful opportunities to spend time with my family and doing what I love. It's not a busy life, but an ABUNDANT LIFE!

John 10:10b I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mama and to all those who are Moms to us all everywhere!
